Employees – Office Environment

In the last decade or two, the modern office has seen many evolutions. The traditional cubicle farms died in the early 2000s, and the incline of open floorplans began. Despite the changes in the infrastructures, a key factor that does not change is the impact that a positive or negative office environment has on its employees.

So what is a positive office environment? To simply put, a positive environment is a condition in which the employee feels comfortable working in. Quality workspace ensures a lesser stressful environment which results in a more productive atmosphere. Usually, the Employers that consider this factor run businesses that output the greatest results. According to a survey carried out on Fellowes, employees also want to work in a healthy environment. According to the findings, an alarming majority of 87% of workers believe their employer should offer a healthier work environment such as company fitness benefits, sit-stands, healthy lunch options and breaks as well as ergonomic seating to name a few.

Another finding states 93% of workers in the tech industry say they don’t mind working longer if only they are given, a healthier environment to work in.

If we are to expect an outstanding work ethic, it is only right that an outstanding work environment is provided. The average human spends a third of his/her life in an office environment. In order to retain and reap the full benefits and efficiency of the employee, it is essential for companies to foster an environment that empowers people with the right space to work, think and collaborate naturally.
